Fight your way through an occult dungeon, while building a deck of cards that seem to have been forgotten in the drier...

Your deck is composed only of decaying cards that were split into three parts. No problem! Re-assemble them however you want to create powerful synergies... Or really bad ones.

Each battle will reward you with a new card to add to your deck. But your foes also grow stronger each time. How far will you get?

v0.0.4 is the official jam version, v0.0.5 fixes a bug with the "spend all your actions" mechanic and improves the game's balancing.

Instructions :

  • Press F to toggle full screen (doesn't work in main menu)
  • Drag & Drop card fragments to the middle of the board
  • 3 fragments (from anywhere!) make a card
  • Click "Cast" to play it
  • Each card costs Actions (eyes)
  • Defeat the enemy before getting killed!

this is one of those jam games where i really hope the full version happens, props to the devs

This game has a really interesting mechanic, I see this as a game with an endless mode, just need to balance things out. Well done!

I'd like to point out a bug also, I played 2 actions for 1 dmg, 1 action for 1 dmg, and then spent all my actions to gain shields and it went infinite with that

What's with the different card paper colors? Grey vs. Yellowed?

And there's a limit of 6 cards in hand and 3 Actions. Okay. And card draws can be wasted. mmm

Why does enemies shielding seem to give them 1 Heart?

Whelp, I'm done. 12 damage incoming vs. me with four 1 Action Cards that can only give me 1 or 2 damage or actions.

"grey" cards are foils. They don't change anything, it's just rare.

We will try to fix the game based on some of the feedbacks. Just understand that it was a game made in 48h so it has some rough edges :)

Yep! Was fun to see how far I could get! Good game!

amazing game, played this for hours

GOD DEAMN this game is a really good card game I really like it

Steam release?

Woo! Piecing together cards, sorta like piecing together skills like in https://sawyer-friend.itch.io/ratd

This is Windows only, right? Note that in your downloads? I might still try to run this with Steam Proton later.

And it don't work on Experimental Proton, okay.

I had a really fun time playing this with the mechanic of putting together cards. Would absolutely love to see this develop into a full game with more cards and more enemy variations

(+2)

I love the concept very nice game!! ,i dont know if the bug is report but if you have zero "mana" and you use card it consume all mana , the attack turn in loop and never end

Hi, the game looks nice, but it's windows only right?
Maybe could you create an Linux and Mac version too?
(Also would help to have the icon for the version on the download if you could enable it)

Incredible work with an interesting concept! Reminds me of Inscryption.

I do have a suggestion though, What if the enemy too had to play cards in order to do any actions just like the player and we can see what the will be playing. I personally think it will make the game more strategic, and need more tactical mindset. Nevertheless, Nice work!

There is also this one minor visual bug, there's a layering issue, the numbers and icons of the cards shows upon the card that is placed over it. There needs a layer sorting that hides the number of the card behind the card that is placed above it.

turns seem to be working weirdly. my turn is ending when i'm pretty sure i still have actions left.

(+1)

i'm playing the bugfixed version but the spend all your actions card is still bugged and i'm trapped in an infinite loop

Mint :)

A cool idea that I enjoyed playing for a bit. My only issue is that you can only have a max of 6 full cards and when I need to draw I would feel that id want to draw a lot but this limit is restricting I cant fit in my hand.

Idea: If I can only have access to 6 cards max I feel like if I draw more than extra they be put aside still flipped over but ill get them once my hand space isn't full

(+2)

Very cool and interesting mechanics, my only complaint is about the game scaling WAY faster than the player. Expect that, the game looks and plays very well, excellent idea :)

(+2)

Enemy has 9 armor, 8 hp and he is gonna kick me in nuts with 12 damage, so what can I do ? Assemble my best cards in the ultimate combo with 1 action for 2 armor and get rekt.
Cool design and idea btw

very fun game, im noticing once you get to the later enemies you cant really scale up against them, and if you only have one card in your hand that doesnt use up all your actions it softlocks your game

(+1)

i JUST realized the end turn button is cut off on my screen and thats why i couldnt progress

Nice!!

(+1)

Cool game. But I think it can have shortcut keys so that I won’t need to drag every single one of them.

Mechanics with lots of potential. However needed more elements to encourage player to create new card, to encourage synergy.

downloaded the version from the first link, and when i played an all energy 3 attack card at full(3) energy, my game glitched out and my character keeps smacking air for a few minutes already. How can i end this XD. The enemy disappeared, but their action is still displayed above the empty healthbar. the end turn button does nothing

(+2)

Actually the best game ever made frfr

I love the concept! It would be interesting to see where this could go if you kept improving it (like adding enemy variety, more card effects, etc.).
One problem I saw was that when I played a card to get more actions but spent my last action point(s) to use it, it would still end my turn without adding the action points first and letting me continue with my current turn.

so cool

Super cool mechanics, love the idea of putting cards together yourself. I think it's really creative and would love to see more of this.

Some issues I saw were def the balance. You can't really scale up to the later enemies levels. And also if you end your turn while there's a card ready to be cast, you won't be able to cast any more cards.

amazing game,

small bug in 0.0.5:

If you use a 3 action card, and have a use all action card, you can still use it and have an infinite loop as you start at 0 actions.

(+2)

If you're going to develop this further I think it could be a great success! The concept is very nice, now it just needs balancing and more variety. Great job!

(+4)

Cool concept, but it need's heavy balancing and a lot more variety. The artstyle is nice and all, but I would greatly appreciate more color to differenciate different actions better.

(+2)

This is SO good. Please Please Please develop this more, add non combat curio encounters, add unique enemies, etc etc., I would easily pay big buckaroos for this.

That gaming system is unbelievably good. I had so much fun by now and i'm gonna kepp playing even if its too hard at some point. I really hope that u r keeping that game up to date bro. BTW that bug with'spend all your actions' is still not fixed... sadly

(+1)

Cool game! I'd love to see this gimmick turned into a full game, there are so many possibilities with the system

(+2)

Very neat idea, great gamefeel and atmosphere!
