game lags a lot with large pieces.


use the first 7 columns for large blocks and last 3 for mini blocks. occassionally you'll need to put large blocks in the 3-wide. this worked pretty well for me until my controls stopped working for a sec. i had fun with this one!

yeah i know, i’ll try to fix that at some point but optimization is always tricky

I really like this one, even if I can't get past this 35

another update :

  • the random apple generation does not use a mixed bag system for the columns any more, because i realized you can just drop only i pieces for free t*tris/all clears. however each column still has an equal chance of being chosen.

uploaded an update to snaketrible with the following fixes :

  • the random generation of “apples” has been improved. they will now spawn equally on each column with a mixed bag system, including in the middle.
  • locking a piece with any block above the board will now trigger a game over (for more clarity on how to lose in this specific game mode)
  • losing your piece ten times in a row, by colliding with another one or the side of the board, will now trigger a game over (in order to solve soft locks)

If you build a vertical wall, it's possible for the "food" to spawn on the other side, softlocking you forever.

yeah i know there are tons of glitches in this one. i’m not sure how to solve this, maybe just trigger a game over if you lose your piece n times in a row

Rather than a game over, maybe move the food if you lose your piece a bunch of times. It's not a perfect fix, but it keeps you from being softlocked at least.

only if there is a valid spot for food onscreen! there are too many cases i can’t really predict right now so i think i’ll keep it to 10 deaths = defeat.

i feel like the game never spawns an "apple" in the middle columns unless it absolutely has to. this gets annoying at times. time to switch up my strategy...

i might have just been unlucky, but it still seems to be the case, just less so. anyways, heres my pb as of rn

nice trick! the apple generation is random but you’re like the tenth person to say it never spawns in the middle which is really starting to make me doubt myself about this! i’ll double check my code just to make sure

update : i was wrong. i told the apple to spawn on the board above any existing piece, but i included the current piece in “any existing piece” by mistake… meaning the apple would never spawn under the current piece, i.e in the middle. but hey, it’s fixed now!

dang i didn't know the game just times you out after a while. well either way here's a pretty solid score, i totally could've kept going though without the timer constraint. i'm loving this mode tho it is so much fun

protip : if you click “classic” on the top left hand side, you can switch between different timer modes, including “endless” with no timer, and “zero grav”, with no gravity. i only take high scores in classic mode tho!

This one's super fun! Here's my highest score so far :D Idk if you're planning on doing any re-runs of old versions, but if you are I've been missing pinball tetrible. That one was a blast!

holy cow i've only known about tetrible for a few weeks and i can't believe i missed out on pinball tetrible. i can't even imagine what it would be like but it sounds like it would be a blast

Very, very annoying bug: pressing soft drop also triggers hold.

uploaded another version of life tetrible, fixing the ghost pieces above the board

terrible idea: "auto rotate tetrible"

self explanatory. rules:

1. you can't rotate

2. the game rotates for you every so often

from a coding pov, this idea should be fairly easy to implement. if you want, rotating could become more frequent as the gravity increases.

I got 112 at this last night! Does that put me in first position? Quick update it before someone beats me! Oh btw, I was thinking if you added the name of the particular variant somewhere on screen, it would be good for keeping track of which version screenshots were taken during. Also I'm not sure what that red error message is about, but may be of interest to you.

it certainly works a lot better now, the only thing that bugs out a little now is pieces sticking out of the top when a line gets cleared

i’m not sure what you mean by this, do you have a screenshot?

as you can see the bit of the T piece that was sticking out the top of the field remains there, not solid

Very fun, too bad there's a bunch of annoying bugs.
I encountered a bunch of ghost tiles/dead pixels that actually didn't have any collision. And I also had some lines that didn't clear (I assume it was caused by a ghost tile being present in the line). Would love to see a fixed version

I second this, the idea is great and I enjoyed it but the consistent ghost tiles and missed lines are a bit annoying
