Wesleyan Tetris is the worst version of Tetris I am aware of that is bad on purpose. It goes out of its way to pick disadvantageous pieces for you, makes up new pieces, occasionally gives you a piece different than the one the Next Piece box was showing, and insults how you play. It's an example your game should strive towards.
There's Hell Tetris, based off the xkcd strip and having a round floor. I would expect that you've heard of it. All the existing recreations I can find are in Flash, so that could be something to try recreating.
Then there's the launch version of Tetris Ultimate on PS4. That one... That one is not something you want to imitate.
also this new version broke the game slightly, it seems not every input can be clicked to change it anymore (from what i tried it seems to be move right and both rotate buttons)
🙏 Thank you!! Your gameplay is just incredible, I didn’t think of that strategy and only ever scored like 30 lines. Also, I can’t understate how useful that kind of videos is to my process! Pushing the game to its limits like you do allows me to fix bugs I couldn’t find on my own… On this note, I think the rotation system is a bit broken on the I piece :/
after a few failed attempts where i locked out instantly when a piece spawned while touching the stack i managed to get a good run c: 2000 lines and a failed secret grade
a couple suggestions on the controls: there is a bug where occasionally when you press left/right, it moves your piece twice. this can cause to misdrop very easily when you're trying to go fast. I also would suggest raising the speed at which pieces move to the left/right when the button is held, right now it is fairly slow and when the game gets to high speed I have to mash left/right to get the pieces to go fast enough. If that's how you want the game to play at high speed that's fine, just my suggestion. Other than those bugs and stuff, all the different versions of this have been great! They're all creative concepts that lead to an interesting take on [unnamed block game].
Really enjoyed the version with the six-block pieces, but when I start the game, it's the version with big and small pieces. I love both, but is there also possibly a way to make a version where it is the six-block pieces?

when paused, it does not actually stop the game. it only removes time based things like gravity and DAS. you can still move and place your pieces.
Well, tuesday’s over for me so you get to enjoy that for a whole week :p

new version i am unable to change the controls of move left, rotate right, rotate left
decided to have some fun with this version, and ended up doing this c:
i got a secret grade, with 69 lines!
this was a bit more of an interesting challenge with this unique board shape.

(the top line on the left side was actually filled but one of the higher line clears cleared it again)

you can basically ignore everything but the top 8 lines on the right side, so yeah it's easy to keep on going
it's still a fun twist though ^^

new version, new score, starting off very strong with 113 lines
so, i was aiming to end up with 69 points, since i had gotten 68 earlier in the week... then this happened.

also while it's great to be able to rebind keys now, i noticed they reset when restarting. not sure if intended or not but figured i'd point it out.
I did my best, but I only work on this project for a few hours a week and rebinding controls is hard! next week I’ll take care of that tho :)
